In Chinese mythology, the Phoenix is the feminine counterpart to the Dragon. She is the embodiment of the Yin principle — transformation through surrender. I named this blouse The Phoenix because, with it, a version of me died and a new one was born. An end to the denial of my own essence. A coming home to the Yin I had been rejecting for years.
The sleeves are wide, long, cascading — like the wings of a phoenix mid-flight. Heavy enough to carry your power, and loose enough to give you full freedom to expand it. This is the feminine energy that does not announce itself through force, but through presence.
What I love about silk is its natural shimmer. This gift of nature is woven into the fiber's own structure. Silk is composed of a protein called fibroin, and each fibroin filament has a triangular cross-section. These rounded-edge prisms act like tiny mirrors, catching light and reflecting it from multiple angles at the same time. This silk is heavy and buttery soft, and glowy in its own essence.
Each color in this collection is based on a precious stone, because stones carry the earth's slow wisdom. Their natural pair: bubbles.
